About VFR Mowing
Aviation. Operations.
Automation.
Three lifelong passions that came together to create a mowing service that nobody else could build.

The story behind VFR Mowing
I've been passionate about aviation since childhood. There's something about the freedom and precision of flying that has never let go of me. That passion eventually led me to earn my pilot's license, and today I fly out of Central Texas, the same region VFR Mowing serves.
Professionally, I've spent over a decade heading up large-scale event companies, helping them run smooth operations. When you're coordinating logistics, staffing, vendors, and timelines for major events, you learn to think in systems. You learn that the best operations are the ones where everything works without anyone noticing.
That same mindset drew me to automation. I've always been fascinated by the idea of building systems that run themselves, reliably, efficiently, without constant human intervention. When autonomous robotic mowers started reaching commercial grade, I saw the convergence immediately: aviation for access, operations for execution, and automation for the actual work.
VFR Mowing exists because those three things came together.
Private airstrips are scattered across rural Texas and beyond, many of them owned by aging pilots or ranchers who can't or don't want to mow 20–40 acres themselves anymore. Traditional bush hog operators are expensive and unreliable. And most of these strips have no road access to speak of.
So I built a service where I fly the robots to the strip, deploy them, and let them do what they do best, mow autonomously, precisely, and quietly. Solar powered, 5G managed, no emissions. Then I come back, collect the mower, and rotate it to the next customer. For strips that need constant maintenance, we deploy a dedicated robot full-time and manage it remotely.
It's the kind of business that could only be built by someone who flies, thinks in operations, and loves automation. That's me.
What drives us
Aviation First
We understand airfields because we use them. Every decision is made with runway safety and pilot operations in mind.
Operations Mindset
Logistics, scheduling, deployment, we run this like the large-scale operations we've managed for over a decade.
Automation Native
We don't bolt robots onto a traditional service. The robots are the service, and we built everything around them.
